Mexico. Comex, PPG, announced that its Vinimex Total paint received the National Technology and Innovation Award (PNTI) in the marketing category.
PNTI is the highest award given by the government of Mexico. It recognizes national companies and organizations that have successfully used technology and innovation to increase their competitiveness.
"PPG and the Comex brand are honored to receive this award, which recognizes a significant achievement in the coatings industry," said Henrik Bergström, Vice President of ARCHITECTURAL Coatings PPG for Latin America and President of the Comex brand. "As an industry leader, we must anticipate our customers' needs and constantly advance coating innovations to exceed their expectations."
Comex created the Vinimex Total paint using a research process at the Comex Polymer Research Center (CIP), which is the first of its kind in Latin America. The product features a new generation of water-based acrylic resins that provide superior performance, the widest color offering and marks a milestone in architectural coating products in Mexico.
"We created a state-of-the-art paint product with the best properties on the market," said Javier Sosa, marketing director of PPG, Comex brand. "In addition to being eco-friendly and affordable, Vinimex Total paint offers superior covering power, performance, ease of application, durability and wear resistance."
Comex explained that the brand maintains a firm commitment to investing in technology, innovation and research and development (R&D). Comex's R&D team consists of 150 highly specialized employees who carried out nearly 200 research projects focused mainly on the development of new materials in the last two years.
