International. Stahl has officially begun construction of its Center of Excellence for Performance Coatings in Suzhou. During the stone ceremony, Hagen Chen, managing director of Greater China and Asia Pacific in Stahl, laid the foundation stone.
The 916m2 building is expected to be completed in September 2018. With the completion of the second Center of Excellence in China, Stahl expands its capabilities to work side-by-side with partners to anticipate the growing demand for products and solutions that have less impact on the environment.
"For the past seven years, our high-performance coating solutions business in China has been growing tremendously, especially in the automotive industry, as have the applications of seats and moldings, elastomer coatings and flock adhesives," chen says.
"Every day we receive more requests from our customers, brands and OEMs for products and solutions that have less impact on the environment. The new Center of Excellence provides our customers with better services with state-of-the-art test machinery to develop new solutions, for example, our water-based STAHL EVO products."
In addition to the factory in Suzhou that opened ten years ago, Stahl also has a Center of Excellence in Guangzhou, which specializes in leather solutions. These centers allow Stahl to combine strengths with local partners to create high-quality solutions for the automotive, apparel and home equipment industries.
