Uruguay. Sherwin-Williams recently reported the closure of its industrial plant located in the Sayago area, after having conducted an evaluation of its manufacturing operations worldwide and following the acquisition of Valspar Corporation.
The plant where Sherwin-Williams operated was purchased in 2007, and about 80 people worked there. Now the company explained through a statement that the supply of the products will be covered by the plant it has in Brazil and by others in the region.
As explained, now the company "bets on maintaining and developing its commercial activity through its own stores and its distribution network".
In addition, the statement says that: "The company regrets the situation of the workers affected by this closure, recognizes the years of dedication and joint work, and is committed to providing them with a labor counseling program developed to support them in their reintegration into the workforce."
"Sherwin-Williams reinforces its commitment to the country and will continue to bet on developing its commercial presence and leadership in the domestic market," the company added.
