Argentina. On Wednesday, September 20, Atipat (Ibero-American Technological Association of Paints, Adhesives and Inks) will hold a technical training in "Quality control and performance evaluation of coatings" which will be held in Córdoba.
Like any manufactured product, paints must be subjected to a control that ensures the quality and performance for which they are conceived. Each paint or coating must meet specific characteristics, different in each case, which are those that were defined at the time of its design. They have been chosen among the characteristics that are evaluated in a coating, the most common and have been separated into three groups:
1- Quality Control: The first group corresponds to the control that is done at the end of the elaboration process and indicates if during the process there has been any type of deviation. It also gives us the necessary information to adjust the parameters of the product obtained so that they are within the limits that have been previously established.
2 - Performance evaluation: The second group details the tests carried out to evaluate performance, which are carried out on the dry paint film, which, at the design stage, allows us to evaluate whether it will withstand the conditions of use for which it was designed.
3 - Physicochemical Analysis of Raw Materials: A review of the physicochemical analysis of raw materials is presented, a fundamental stage of the control that prevents the appearance of problems in the manufacture of paints, when detecting inputs with specification deviations.
