Mexico. The Chemours Company held on June 24 the ceremony of laying the First Stone and starting construction of a new production plant of Mining Solutions in the State of Durango, Mexico.
The company indicated that this project represents an estimated investment of US$150 million, creating approximately 1,000 direct jobs during construction and 350 direct and indirect jobs once the plant is in operation.
This new plant, located in the municipality of Gómez Palacio, will guarantee a safe and reliable supply of the product to the mining industry in Mexico.
"This project is a further demonstration of our Five Point Transformation Plan and will support the growing needs of the Mexican mining market," said Mark Vergnano, President and CEO of Chemours. "We have had successful operations in Mexico for more than 90 years, and this plant reinforces our continued commitment to Chemours' Mining Solutions business."
"Mining companies count on us for a consistent and reliable supply to help keep their operations running." This production facility in Mexico will significantly increase our production capacity and include state-of-the-art technology and production processes." The location of this plant, close to some of the largest gold and silver locations in Mexico and in the heart of the mining industry, will allow us to expand support to our customers, providing a clear competitive advantage in the supply chain pathway," said Chris Siemer, Global President of Chemours' Chemical Solutions Business.
