Brazil. In 2017, the ABRAFATI Prize for Science in paintings will have its 18th edition, maintaining the objective for which the organization created this recognition: to encourage research and contribute to the technological development of industry in the country.
Thus, professionals from the painting sector, academic researchers and undergraduate and postgraduate students can now register their work for the main Brazilian award for scientific research linked to the universe of paintings.
The studies must be unpublished and original, and must deal with one or more of the following topics: raw materials; development of innovative products, processes or equipment in the manufacture and/or application of paints; analytical techniques; quality; environmental protection; use of by-products and waste.
The deadline for registration and delivery is until November 1. Consequently, the Judging Commission will evaluate the work and define the first three positions. The award ceremony to the authors of the winning works will take place at a ceremony on December 6. In addition to the recognition represented by the prize, the winners will receive a cash award, in the values of R $15,000.00 (1st place), R $10,000.00 (2nd place) and R $5,000.00 (3rd place).
