Colombia. Pintuco recently received delegates from the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) to accept certification for their commitment to security in their supply chain, through compliance with security requirements and satisfactory history of customs obligations.
This regulation generates a series of benefits in the operations of the company in foreign trade and recognition as a safe company. The following are some of the benefits:
1. Recognition as a safe and reliable operator in the international supply chain.
2. Assignment of an operations officer by each supervisory authority providing support in operations.
3. Decrease in the number of surveys, physical and documentary inspections by the respective authorities.
The Administrative Manager of the Orbis Group, Sergio Villa, commented through a statement that "to have an AEO culture within our organization is to have a responsible customs culture. Honoring these commitments through the continuous improvement of our processes and extreme security controls throughout the supply chain represents greater efficiencies for us, because with the benefits obtained we gain time and optimization of resources, which translates into savings for the company."
This visit was joined by international observers from the countries that make up the Pacific Alliance, who highlighted Pintuco's good practices and also granted it AEO recognition before the customs of Mexico, Chile and Peru, countries that with Colombia make up the Pacific Alliance and work to promote greater growth, development and competitiveness of their economies.
AEO guarantees four essential factors:
1. Security along the supply chain
2. Agility in commercial exchange
3. Public-private partnerships
4. Signing of recognition agreements between the customs of various countries
This initiative, led by the Colombian Customs Tax Directorate since 2011, aims for agile, secure and transparent trade.
