International. Archroma reported that it has officially opened its new Global Center of Excellence for Surface and Coating Technology. The Centre underlines Archroma's ambition to bring new and innovative solutions to the packaging and specialty paper markets.
The new Global Centre is located in Bradford, UK, at the location of Archroma's application laboratory equipment for deposit control. It houses Surface & Coating's global product manager and a team of application experts, all with close ties to Archroma's R&D organization and sales teams around the world. In the last four months, existing laboratory facilities have been expanded and state-of-the-art equipment for application development and measurement has been installed.
This investment emphasizes Archroma's commitment to bringing new technologies in the area of barrier and surface coatings to the packaging market. At the opening session, Beate Plueckhan, President emea, commented on the potential this market offers: "Especially in the area of food packaging, consumers are looking for safe, convenient and sustainable packaging, with its technological and application know-how Archroma is well positioned to participate more intensively in this growing market."
