International. Automotive paint equipment manufacturer Dürr has introduced its new generation overspray separation equipment that requires no water or spill treatment, known as EcoDryScrubber.
The DryScrubber system is fully integrated into the cab and fully automated. The particle filtering process close to 100% allows a direct recirculation of the process air, as well as significant reductions in the result of energy requirements.
Some of the features of this new launch is that it offers energy cost reduction of up to 30% in the paint plant and up to 60% in the paint booth, unit cost savings, a fully integrated separation system, effective recirculation of process air,
a fully automated separation process, separation without water or chemicals, fully regenerative filter elements.
It uses limestone powder as a natural binding material for all types of overspray paint. In addition, the use of water and non-stick chemicals and paint sludge is eliminated.
High air recirculation of up to 95% is at the core of the massive energy savings made possible by the EcoDryScrubber. With a production volume of 160,000 bodies in total, 16 million kilowatt hours of energy can be saved. This corresponds to a reduction of 5,200 tons of CO2 emissions, or enough electricity to supply 3,000 homes a year.
