Mexico.
PPG has completed the first phase of an expansion project at its Tepotzotlán plant. The completed expansion, which adds production and distribution capacity for adhesives for automotive products and sealants, is part of a two-phase project that will help PPG meet demand in Mexico's growing automotive industry.
"Mexico is strategically important to PPG because in its light vehicle production rate it is one of the fastest growing automotive markets," said Juanjo Ardid, PPG's global general manager of adhesives and sealants. "This investment reflects our commitment to supporting automotive manufacturing customers in Mexico and across the region, ensuring they have access to PPG's portfolio of adhesives and sealants, as well as all of our automotive coatings products."
When the second phase of the project is completed at the Tepotzotlan headquarters, PPG will have the capacity to manufacture its complete line of putties, sealants and acoustic coatings called Audioguard. This product line includes water-based, spray-applied coatings that provide vibration damping and interior noise reduction of vehicles.
