AkzoNobel's leading color experts have selected a shade of blue called Denim Drift as the color of the year 2017.
Announced during the launch of the company's annual trend forecast (known as "ColourFutures"), the Denim Drift is derived from the basis of an inspirational palette of paint colors focused on the global design and social trends expected for the coming year.
Working with a group of great international architects, interior designers and trend watchers, the company has used extensive research to define the most representative tones and styles of how we are going to live our lives in 2017. Forecasting is also regarded as a vital resource for everyone working in the world of interior design.
To complement the color of the year, a special color palette offering a range of blues and shades has also been developed. The Denim Drift combined with the lighter shades of paint in the palette has a cool and airy feel, while with the darker colors it is more dramatic and moody.
