A positive balance left the last ExpoCamacol of Medelín, Colombia, for the company of accessories for the paints sector, El Galgo, which participated in the fair at the invitation of the Argentine Foreign Ministry and the Export Foundation.
El Galgo has been carrying out work to have a presence in the Colombian market, said Claudio Fazzone, commercial manager of the firm: "It is the second opportunity that El Galgo is presented at a construction fair in Colombia, last year we participated in expo construction in Bogotá, but this time we did it within the Argentine pavilion together with other companies in our country. Participating in this fair allowed us to consolidate contacts that we made last year in Bogotá, meet new companies, test our products and, anticipating a first, in the coming months El Galgo will have a presence in the Colombian market".
Fazzone explains the reasons why the Colombian market is important for his company: "Colombia has an important level of growth of its economy, it has a GDP very similar to Argentina, one of the most important in the region and as far as the paint accessories market is concerned, we see it in a stage of changes, of improvements in the retail channel that we understand will represent in the medium term an opportunity for companies that develop innovative and quality products".
Finally, Claudio takes stock of what ExpoCamacol left for them: "First of all we were able to specify something that we have been working on since last year, which is to be able to have a local representative for our brand; on the other hand we are beginning to evaluate businesses for the manufacture of product lines for private labels. The latter we consider a potentially very interesting business given the company's experience in producing for own brands of leading paint companies such as for homecenters and chains of paint stores.
The company has a presence in the region in countries such as Paraguay, Uruguay, Peru and Bolivia.
