The National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD) recently announced that Andes Chemical Corp. won the 2016 Responsible Distribution Excellence award.
Each year, the award is presented to a NACD member or affiliate company that best embodies NACD's Ideals of Responsible Distribution, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary as the health, safety and environment program.
To determine the winner of this year's award, several key company practices were included:
- Holding quarterly meetings to monitor performance in relation to the company's goals and objectives;
- Conducting performance evaluations for all employees twice a year;
- Incorporating innovation and technology such as the use of handheld devices for daily operations, including inspection activities and access to material safety data;
- Extending their responsibility to the community by participating in organizations such as the Miami Children's Young Ambassadors.
Headquartered in Miami, Florida, the company has been a member of NACD since 2007.
