Huntsman announced that it will launch by 2017 a new titanium dioxide pigment (TiO2), tioxide TR48, which will offer outstanding coloristic and processing properties, even at high temperatures.
Designed for use in the production of polyolefin masterbatches; biaxially oriented polypropylene film (BOPP); and engineered compounds, Tioxide TR48 is easy to disperse, has excellent ink reduction capabilities and has been developed with low-level formulations of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
Typical applications for Tioxide TR48 include premium and generic packaging systems, the production of plastic parts for consumer electronics devices and for the automotive industry.
Tioxide TR48 is one of the novelties that Huntsman is developing to improve its range of TiO2 pigments for the industry. Under its Tioxide and Sachtleben brands, Huntsman offers a range of white pigments for use in different industries.
Developed over many years, Tioxide and Sachtleben pigments are known for their performance in a wide range of masterbatche systems and composites for plastics.
