Lanxess' business unit, Rhein Chemie Additives (ADD) presented its new developments in Macrolex Gran organic dyes for the bright coloring of amorphous and semi-crystalline plastics.
Thanks to their microgranules form, dyes compare very favorably with compact powders and granules due to their excellent dispersion and safe processing and handling properties.
Macrolex microgranules consist of hollow spheres that can be crushed very easily, meaning they can be quickly and completely distributed and incorporated into the plastic evenly.
The excellent treatment capacity of the product is due to the fact that the hollow spheres comprise in particular the small primary particles of between two and ten micrometers, depending on the color. The good free-flowing properties of the 0.3 mm spheres make precise dosing easier and prevent the formation of lumps in the mixing process. The bulk density four times higher compared to powder pays dividends in processing, transportation and storage alike.
