Dürr has opened a modern campus in the United States for more than 500 employees. The office and technology complex that is conveniently located in Southfield/Michigan combines activities that the company had previously conducted at three different locations in the Detroit area.
The investment volume amounts to almost 40 million euros. Ralf W. Dieter, Managing Director of Dürr AG, said during the opening ceremony that "this investment is a clear commitment to the North American market. Southfield can support our customers more effectively and exploit the growth potential of the U.S. market."
Apart from painting and final assembly technology, Southfield also accommodates facilities for cleaning and outlet air purification technology, as well as the balancing technology business for the automotive industry. These activities were previously housed in Plymouth, Wixom and Auburn Hills.
The Southfield campus has 9,000 square meters of modern offices. It also includes a 10,000 square meter validation, testing and training center.
