The specialty chemical company Covestro celebrated the 50th anniversary of its Barcelona plant the previous week.
The celebration was attended by executives such as Daniel Meyer, director of the Paints, Adhesives and Specialties (CAS) Business Unit and Executive Vice President of the Covestro Group, Andrea Firenze, new General Manager of Covestro in Spain, and Fernando Peirón, Director of the Covestro factory in Barcelona, who took stock of these 50 years of work of the plant.
During the event, a new production line for polyurethane dispersions for coatings in specialized sectors was also inaugurated.
The Barcelona factory, where more than a hundred people work, has increased its capacity by eight to reach 40,000 tons and has improved its energy efficiency by 40%.
During the inauguration, the company took the opportunity to present its new line of polyurethanes in aqueous dispersion for specialized sectors. It is applied in car lacquering, construction, fabric finishes and industrial structures.
