Sika reported that its Sustainability Strategy 2014-2018 is producing a positive result. In the first two years of the strategy, the company has exceeded five of the six target areas covering the economic, environmental and social dimensions of its business. Sika has delivered more value to its stakeholders with less impact on the environment.
"Sika takes a long-term perspective on the development of its business and acts responsibly towards all stakeholders. We are proud of our sustainability achievements and the fact that we have delivered more value to our stakeholders with less impact on the environment," said Ene Jenisch, CEO of Sika.
Sika's initiative: "More value, less impact", which has the six sustainability target areas in a single concept, is fulfilling its promise, to meet all value-added objectives during the two-year period 2014/2015. Operating profit grew by 12.3%, reflecting the company's economic performance. All new products, system and service projects were evaluated through Sika's product development processes and all key local projects were carried out. The number of projects benefiting local communities and societies has increased by 50%.
