Mexico.
Michael McGarry, president and CEO of PPG Industries, owner of the Paint Company Comex, said the Mexican company would benefit from the election day to be held there next June.
According to the executive, sales would increase: "When they have elections, local politicians offer to fix things to look good. And, obviously, if they do, we would be very happy to participate," McGarry said in statements published by the newspaper El Financiero.
In the first quarter of 2016, Comex's sales in Mexico, according to the company's leader, increased 5%, thanks to the opening of stores and the launch of a new format called "store-in-store" with which they rent spaces in establishments (either in hardware stores or stores of this type) to sell their products.
"When we bought Comex, the team already had a very large concentration of market share in what I would call central Mexico, but the company did not have enough presence in the south of the country, and also in the north. So we recently introduced a 'store-in-store' concept, which will allow us to increase our market share," he said.
