The Lubrizol Corporation announced the acquisition of new vacuum metallization equipment at its International Packaging Center of Excellence in San Cugat, Barcelona.
The investment in this new equipment aligns with Lubrizol's goals of introducing improvements to the packaging industry and offering outstanding support services to customers in the metallization market. This state-of-the-art vacuum metallization equipment offers excellent control when applying vaporized aluminum on film substrates and also allows Lubrizol to accurately test the performance of primers and coatings.
Sergio Escuriet, Lubrizol's international application manager in high-performance coatings, said: "Integrating the new vacuum metallization capabilities means that we can continue to be leaders in innovation, which allows us to continue incorporating new coating technology solutions into the packaging industry. We are already using the equipment to test the new coating products for film packaging, but our application test will only improve from there."
The new equipment features a robust control system that delivers highly accurate metal deposition results. "This allows us to conduct robust and accurate studies for customers looking for the right coating solutions for their packaging needs," Escuriet continued.
