International. Rosco announced the reformulation of its DigiComp paint line. The new DigiComp HD, available in 5751 green and 5750 blue, provides the precise, high-gain coloring that film producers need for their digital compositions. And now, in most cases, it offers full coverage with just two layers.
"Based on market feedback and our commitment to continuously improve Rosco products, we have redesigned DigiComp's formula to better respond to HD cameras while achieving even lower VOCs," said Jenny Knott, product manager for scenic paints and coatings.
"DigiComp HD makes it easier for our customers to work, making it more efficient, and its new formula provides a smooth coating, which, when applied as directed, requires less paint than our previous DigiComp paint line," Knott concluded.
DigiComp HD paint color standards are precisely manufactured for clear, crisp separation between background and foreground during digital composition – resulting in very few touches, if any, during post-production. Rosco DigiComp HD paints are specially formulated to provide the right luminance and RGB values for optimal operation of digital composition systems.
The precise formulation of the pigments found in DigiComp HD paints produces highly specific spectral refractance and high gain reflectivity, resulting in a bright and narrow green or blue bandwidth that is easy to illuminate and embed. DigiComp HD saves valuable post-production time to productions as visual effects technicians waste less time on rotoscoping and manipulation of a dirty inlay caused by spectral interference presented by other generic formulas or mixed commercial paints.
Rosco's DigiComp HD formulas are ready to use directly from the pot and in most cases provide uniform coverage with two easy-to-apply layers. DigiComp HD is suitable for use on properly prepared surfaces, including: wood, plasterboard, plywood, plaster and cement. DigiComp HD paints can be applied with a 3/8" roller or spray gun.
