Brazil. Evonik was the sponsor of the 2015 General Assembly of the Organization formed by the main business leaders in the continent, the Business Council of Latin America (CEAL). The event, which took place from October 14 to 16 in Rio de Janeiro, had as its theme: Latin America without Borders.
In its 26th edition, the CEAL Plenary Assembly spoke about the changes of democracy in the digital age; the need to integrate Latin America economically; as well as education and vocational training. The event brought together some 300 participants, including entrepreneurs from across the continent and panelists in an open space for dialogue and the exchange of ideas.
"This meeting offers an opportunity to discuss important issues in the development of Brazil and Latin America. It is also the right place to discuss projects of the present and the future, which for the participation of the industry in the socio-economic development of the region is of utmost importance," said Weber Porto, managing director of evonik's South America region.
The assembly also featured a forum on value-added chains, which discussed how advances in mobility and connectivity can be applied in environments outside large cities, as well as investment opportunities in the service chain.
