International. A new technology of a laboratory equipment for coatings was presented: the gradient furnace, which is used to test both the mechanical properties of the coating at different gradients and to define the optimal curing conditions to obtain the best technical performance of said coating.
The Vulcano 4545, developed by VIP Soluciones, has a thermal bench composed of 45 thermal bars controlled by four standard PLCs that allow:
- Perform curing of 1, 2, 3 or 4 sectors up to 300º C, interspersing between the different sectors three thermal bars of temperature dissipation.
- Make gradients between two temperatures, being able to automatically establish the unit value of the temperature differential applicable to each unit of the thermal bench.
- Simulate the curing or temperature test at a time interval where the thermal bench reproduces the parameters collected in the industrial furnaces by the usual temperature recorders.
The gradient furnace provides three characteristics. The first lies in its tight range of precision that gives it the design of the aluminum bars that make up the thermal bench. The second advantage offered by the equipment lies in the individual calibration from the origin of all the equipment manufactured by the company. The control software compensates through its unit adjustment for possible variations in the manufacturing tolerances of the different components that make up the equipment. The third advantage is related to the design of the equipment, and the aim of reducing the costs of its maintenance as much as possible.
