International. On August 1, 2015, the U.S. legal entity, Rhein Chemie Corp., merged with its parent Company Lanxess Corp. as the Rhein Chemie Additives business unit.
The merger is part of Lanxess' previously announced restructuring program, "Let's Lanxess Again," initiated in 2014, which resulted in the merger of several business units.
The Rhein Chemie Additives business unit, which came into existence on January 1, 2015, is the combination of the Lanxess Functional Chemicals business unit, the former Rhein Chemie business and the Lanxess Rubber Chemicals specialty chemicals line unit.
The Rhein Chemie Additives business unit develops, manufactures and distributes additives and services for specialty chemical and polymer processes.
