Mexico. The companies PPG Industries and Axalta will be the suppliers of paints and coatings for the new plant that the vehicle manufacturer brand is building in the municipality of Pesquería, Nuevo León.
The plant has an 88% progress in the work of work and it is estimated that its construction will be completed in October of this year. During the first twelve months, the company has budgeted the manufacture of 110,000 units and that it will arrive in 2017 at 300,000, of which 60% will be exported to North America; 20% will remain in the Mexican market and another 20% will be exported to South America.
The Kia plant will have an area of 179 hectares, which can be increased to 334 hectares in the next 10 years. In addition, the factory will have 165 hectares of suppliers and 20 hectares of green areas, as well as its own power generation plants, a water treatment plant and a helipad.
