International. Mineral-based solutions company Imerys announced that it has entered into exclusive negotiations with Solvay to acquire its PCC (Precipitated Calcium Carbonates) division comprising four plants in Europe (Germany, Austria, France and the United Kingdom).
This business mainly serves the automotive (polymers, etc.), construction (paints, coatings, sealants) and consumer goods (health and beauty, etc.) markets through special applications. It generated €59 million in revenue in 2014.
The completion of this operation is subject to prior consultation with workers' representatives and approval by the relevant regulatory authorities. Its completion should take effect in the second half of 2015.
