USA USA According to a study by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), it found that in homes built with Chinese drywall there is a correspondence between drywall and corrosion of metals. The CPSC explains that through this report that defines the relationship between these two aspects (drywall and corrosion), it will be possible to advance in the development of protocols that help identify homes with corrosive drywall and determine repair methods.
The investigation also presented that hydrogen sulfide gases found in China's drywalls is the essential component that causes copper corrosion and silver sulfide in the homes that generated the complaint. CPSC has received 2,000 reports from households in 32 states, as well as the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
