Rodolfo Bayona has been elected by the board of directors of the Orbis Group as the new president. Pintuco, Andercol, among other companies are part of this group, in which Bayona serves as vice president of the chemical business since 2014.
Bayona is a Bumanguese chemist at the Industrial University of Santander. She studied environmental science with an emphasis in sustainability at the University of Pennsylvania and holds an MBA from Northwood University. He held various positions at Dow Chemical, a company in which he worked from 1989 to 2014, the year in which he arrived at the Orbis Group, by then The World Group, as manager of the Chemical Business, where among others are the companies Andercol and Inproquim. Prior to joining the Orbis Group, Bayona led operations in areas of research and development, and technical service in Brazil, the United States and China.
The Group highlights that under its management, the chemical business of Orbis obtained a record in 2015 by achieving the best results in sales and profitability in its 50 years of history, exceeding by 27% the estimates of net profit, and sales. Bayona succeeds Ricardo Obregón, who had been serving, since last February, as president of the holding company on behalf of its board of directors, a management body of which Mr. Obregón is part. The new president will continue to lead the Orbis 100 strategy, which seeks sales close to 4 billion pesos. and an Ebidta of 440,000 million pesos by 2021.
