Ph.D. Sanjay Monie has joined Orion Engineered Carbons as Technical Market Director - inks, coatings and specialty applications in the Specialty Carbon Black segment.
Based at Orion's Americas headquarters in Kingwood, Texas, he is responsible for the focused application development, technology transfer, and technical sales and marketing of special carbon blacks used in printing, coatings, and specialty applications.
Dr. Monie has nearly 20 years of commercial and technical experience in the ink and coatings industry, especially in digital and functional printing. Prior to joining Orion, he held market product development positions at U.S. Silica Company, Vorbeck Materials and W. R. Grace & Co., all in Maryland.
Dr. Monie developed some of the first coated products for inkjet printing, and led the commissioning of one of the first commercial applications of graphene in conductive inks. He holds a European patent on glossy paper for inkjet printing and two patents pending on graphene applications in conductive inks and anti-corrosion coatings.
