I am Ana María Restrepo, new editor of AC/R Latin America, and together with Vanesa Restrepo and María Cecilia Hernández, deputy editor and journalist of the publication, respectively, I will be accompanying them from now on.
The beginning of the year always brings good things, I, for example, started the first year of this second decade of the twenty-first century with you, the members of the CVAC/R industry at AHR Expo.
It was my first time at the fair, I met many with whom I had exchanged emails and calls when I wrote for the magazine, but beyond this, I realized that this industry is still very much alive despite the crisis and that manufacturers and institutions look very favorably on Latin America.
A broad picture was drawn in my head, and I hope that together we can bring forward many of the ideas on education for Hispanics raised by Nate (North American Technician Excellence) and AHRI (Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute), as well as the new incursions and repositioning that manufacturers are looking for in our region.
However, I am concerned about other aspects such as the large Chinese presence at the fair, how their products compete with Latinos; the situation of commodities in Argentina, although in Chile they still report an increase in the stock market; In addition to the high number of products that are being advertised as green and I do not want to say that they are not, rather I try to give a critical look at the way they are presented and the abuse that is being given to the concept.
