On World Environment Day I consider it pertinent that the work carried out in the different techniques of Corrosion Control, where its main objective is to protect structures and their components, contribute to the environment through increased durability.

Thus, if a product used for Corrosion Control is increasingly better technically, properly selected, prepared and applied; the result will have a greater durability resulting in the products being consumed in smaller quantities in periods of service.
That is, if a product can provide durability in a certain type of service environment, for example, 5 years. Then, ideally, it will be consumed again every 5 years as a service period.
If the product theoretically, in the laboratory for example or in ideal conditions of service environment can provide a durability of 10 years, the durability will be affected if:
Not stored under ideal conditions.
It is not technically prepared correctly or stoichiometrically.
Not applied correctly.
The conditions of drying until curing are not met.
In principle, the selection of the products to be applied is based on compatibility with the surface material on which it is applied, and the resistance to the service environment to which it is exposed.
For this reason, the durability of a product is linked from the point of view of the correct selection to the conditions of the surface to which it is applied. Therefore, the cleanliness and quality of the surface on which the product is going to be applied is an indicator of durability.
In summary, procedures, techniques and quality standards must be fully complied with to obtain the greatest durability of a product. What leads us to complement that the contribution to the care of the environment is made from the production and technology of products and materials to compliance with procedures and specifications of techniques and quality standards, so that continuous training is an intangible contribution that each human being is able to perform and fulfill.
