Latin America. During the month of June, the anniversaries of different associations of the paint industry in Latin America were celebrated. From Uruguay to Colombia, another year of technical training, seminars and exchange of knowledge between the different partners was celebrated.
One of those that began celebrations at the beginning of last month was the Association of Manufacturers of Paints and Related Industries (AFPIA). She was born in the city of Montevideo, Uruguay, on June 7, 1945. He celebrated 77 years of experience.
It was followed by a more recent association: the Bolivian Association of Color (ABC), which turned 24 years old. Precisely, since June 24, 1998, it is dedicated to promoting the study of color through courses, workshops and congresses.
A year after ABC, several professionals motivated by the Federation of Societies for Coatings Technology (FSCT) of the United States would form an association for the Andean region called STAR. Currently, this group groups active partners from Colombia, Venezuela and Peru.
The 23rd anniversary of this last association coincided with the organization of the 2nd STAR Technical Conference, which featured a couple of seminars on innovation in water-based technologies for industrial coatings, as well as the price of the quality of paints in Colombia.
This meeting, held in Medellín, had the support of Andina Paint, whose March event was replaced by this one due to the capacity conditions in the halls, under the slogan "We unite the technicians of Colombia".
These commemorations recall the work sustained over time to strengthen a sector increasingly radiant by the interaction of the different partners in the region.
