Cubrecol exceeds all expectations

The common denominator after the closing of activities of Cubrecol 2009 was an atmosphere of satisfaction, and the seal of an excellent grade awarded by the attendees, exhibitors and speakers to the event.

It is already customary in Cubrecol that the expectation is exceeded, more if you have the mitigating factor of being considered as the most important technical and commercial event in the Andean countries on the application of paints and coatings and corrosion control.

And definitely the 2009 edition was no stranger to that feeling, since the bulk of the nearly 600 people who intervened in one way or another in the event rated it positively after finishing the two days of activities, in mid-September.

In summary, and taking as a reference a favorability survey carried out by the organization of Cubrecol 2009, it can be noted that 22% of the attendees indicated that the contest had been excellent, 58% rated it as very good and 28% as good.

Among that accumulation of good comments we collected that of Asogalvanicos, headed by its president, Arnoldo Muñoz Bello, who expressed his gratitude and satisfaction with the event, also took the trouble to suggest themes for future editions.

"On behalf of Asogalvanicos we thank Cubrecol and Ascor for allowing us to participate in the event and invite them to continue forward. We see with great respect, that they include very little on metal coatings, an area very widespread in the national industry that deserves greater attention from our unions, "said Muñoz Bello.

This initiative went very well within Cubrecol and the Colombian Corrosion Association, Ascor, which through its president, Quilyam Casallas, expressed its desire to participate in the development of this theme.

"I am sure that the organizers of Cubrecol will be very aware of this case for next year. Likewise, in the Colombian Corrosion Association, Ascor, we are going to be very attentive to this situation," said Casallas.



Quality and good themes in the conferences
Another section that left a very high point during the sixth version of Cubrecol, was the quality of the speakers and, therefore, the development of the academic composition in the four thematic axes that were had: Corrosion & Metals, Architectural Applications, Industrial Applications, and Coatings & Automotive Repainting.

Precisely on the subject of the qualification of the academic component and the speakers, the organization of Cubrecol 2009 has an enormous air of satisfaction between chest and back, because in this item of the survey was where one of the highest percentages of favorability was achieved.

There, 18% of the attendees rated the quality of the speakers as excellent, 50% very good and 28% good, which speaks in an unbeatable way of the final complacency of the public.

As for the academic content, 28% of the attendees evaluated it as excellent, 44% as very good and 24% as good.

Another fact that won the applause was the issue of certification for intervening in the academic event. Cubrecol 2009 had the endorsement of three important entities, the National Learning Service, SENA, the Center for Experimentation and Road Safety, Cesvi Colombia, and STAR, the association that brings together the technicians of the coatings industry of the Andean Zone, Central America and the Caribbean.

A very commercial sample
The commercial exhibition, which was fulfilled alternately to academic activities, dazzled by its organization, innovation and category of the companies it hosted.

There were about 30 companies that participated in Cubrecol 2009 as exhibitors, each of them taking the recognition for its relevance, vocation of service and, above all, for having made excellent commercial contacts with the visitors of the exhibition.

Continuing with the theme of the opinion poll carried out to the public attending Cubrecol 2009, it can be considered that in terms of the evaluation of the quality of the commercial sample, 32% of visitors rated it as excellent, 44% as very good and 22% as good.



Now, not only the qualifications of the attendees favor the commercial sample, also the opinions of the exhibitors themselves leave the event very well stopped, and presage that the 2010 edition, which will be called Cubrecol Americas, will put a very high point.

"The best thing about Cubrecol is that I can meet my clients again in a different space, and the truth is that I always notice that they see with joy our presence in this space. For me, INPRA LATINA is something that is carried in the heart, and more for us who have been working with you for more than ten years," said Consuelo Peláez, executive director of the Association of Andean Technicians in Coatings, STAR.

Business Roundtable
Another goal scored by the organization of Cubrecol was its business roundtable, an instrument that allowed to promote among the attendees and exhibitors an important approach, which at the end of the year collaborated in the creation of a bag of effective contacts in order to generate business, agreements and commercial transactions both for that moment and for the future.

If we talk about a successful complement to the commercial exhibition, then we must highlight the work of the business roundtable, since it strengthened relationships, helped exhibitors to have feedback on their products, gave entrepreneurs the opportunity to quickly and accurately identify potential buyers of their products, and, in the same way, it offered the opportunity to expand the portfolio of suppliers and buyers on a national and international scale.

A very select audience
Something that has always been characteristic of Cubrecol is to bring, both to its commercial sample, as to its academic component and business roundtable, to a select audience, very consistent with what the market to which the event is aimed is looking for.

Therefore, we must highlight the target to which this edition of the contest arrived, which according to the same survey carried out by the organization, determined that 30% were paint suppliers, 26% end user, 12% equipment supplier, 4% paint contractor and the remaining 28% belonged to other segments of this industry.
