International. In a survey conducted recently by researchers at South Central China University, 3 hollow PANI/Ce (NO3) microspheres were employed as functional additives in the epoxy coating.
Hollow polyaniline microspheres (PANI) have been synthesized by the self-assembly method and have been doped with poly (2-acrylamide-2-methylpropane sulfate) acid (PAMPS) and Ce ions. PANI / Ce (NO3) 3 hollow microspheres of specific large area (10.9 m2 / g) and ultra-high electrical conductivity (46.8 S / cm) were applied as additives, and dispersed in an epoxy coating.
EIS and Tafel polarization tests indicated that the PANI/Ce (NO3)3 coating exhibited excellent anticorrosive performance. The Raman spectra revealed that a compact, thin layer of Fe3O4 had formed on the surface of the steel to block the aggressive electrolytes. In addition, Ce ions promoted the formation of the passivation layer and ensured corrosion protection without a toxic inhibitor.
