International. A recently published paper by researchers at Qatar University reports on the morphology of the modified surface of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) films using the electro-spray coating technique.
Atomic force microscopy (AFM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were performed to examine the surface structure of the prepared PVA films. Interestingly, the novel surface developed at the micro level, twisted by electroprojection, is very promising for moisture sensors.
The resistivity of the humidity sensors was measured under controlled humidity levels. Due to the single surface assembly, the electro-sprayed moisture sensor showed superior performance compared to the electrowelded PVA-based humidity sensor.
