Brazil. Axalta Coating Systems has recently received the first best performance certification in the Environmental Management System category among the partner companies of Ford's Northeast Industrial Complex in Brazil.
Ford has recognized companies with its manufacturing certification program since 2012. In addition to Axalta, 25 different companies operating within Ford's Northeast Industrial Complex were evaluated in 2016.
The certification, which falls into two categories, Ford Areas and Partners Companies, considers the analysis of a monthly compliance indicator against the demands of Ford's Environmental Rating System.
Among the items noted are Environmental Initiatives Implemented in the Zone, Environmental Training and Participation in Ford Audits. To establish the classification, several factors were evaluated such as attendance, presence in periodic meetings, compliance with deadlines, results of audits and presentation of environmental initiatives.
