International. Chemours Company announced the opening of its new Teflon finishing plant at its Changshu Works headquarters in Changshu, Jiangsu, China.
Chemours has invested $15 million in this state-of-the-art finishing plant, which will enhance and expand production capacity. The new plant will boost and expand the company's production and provide China and the Asia-Pacific region with a reliable supply of high-quality Teflon coatings for both industrial and consumer applications.
Changshu Works' headquarters will be the manufacturing base in China and a world-class center for the manufacture of Teflon coatings, enabling Chemours to optimize its product development efforts in the fast-growing Chinese market and other areas of Asia.
This new plant will augment Chemours' already considerable presence in China, which includes a new coatings research and development center and a technical assistance laboratory in Shanghai. These facilities were opened in early 2016, not only as a center for the development of new coatings, but also to support the needs of customers in China and throughout Asia.
