International. BYK honored its researchers for the development of a coating with regenerative, biodegradable, versatile characteristics and wax properties.
The additive Ceraflour® 1000 is formed, thanks to biotechnology, with the help of bacteria. According to the company, this opens the way to new perspectives for the use of biotechnology in the coatings industry and can be applied in aqueous, radiation curing, solvent-free and solvent-transmitted systems.
In its applications, the product offers a high level of transparency and improves scratch resistance. "We are very pleased to award this award to this international team, which demonstrates that at BYK we are developing and manufacturing products across borders," said Dr. Roland Peter, president of the company's additive division.
