Germany. Lanxess reported that since July 1 it has raised prices in three of its business units: inorganic pigments, exchange of ionic resins and the ingredient for insect repellents known as Saltidin.
Due to the increase in the prices of raw materials, the company found it necessary to increase the value of these units by 15%.
According to the statement published on its website, the pnorganic pigments business unit has increased its prices by a minimum of 100 euros per metric ton and will announce to its customers the specific data according to product and region. The inorganic pigments produced by Lanxess are subject to strict environmental control rules and among their main applications are the coloring of construction materials, paints, plastics and paper.
Meanwhile, the ionic resin unit increased its products by an average of 5%. The final adjustment will also depend on the degree of resin and the region.
Finally, the inorganic pigments and ion resin exchange business units are part of Lanxess' high-performance chemistry segment, which achieved sales of €2.13 billion in 2011.
