Sustainable solvent
Rhodia Coatis launched the Augeo™ line of sustainable solvents to the paint and ink markets in Mexico. It is a solvent of slow evaporation that adds technical properties capable of providing more productivity and less consumption to the manufacturing process of paints and inks.
Rhodia offers an innovation that replaces glycol ethers and their petrochemically sourced acetates, some of which are harmful to human health and the environment. The company produces acetic oxygenated solvents (ethanol derivatives), ketone solvents (from the acetone chain) and bioglycerin derivatives.
Rhodia's portfolio of oxygenated solvents is comprised of a fairly comprehensive line covering six chemical families (acetates, ketones, alcohols, glycols, cetyl and ketal alcohols) and all evaporation ranges (from the fastest to the slowest). In addition, it has properties adjusted to future and current environmental trends.
