Spherical silica EXP 0002-1 is characterized by a particularly small particle size and is suitable not only for architectural paintings, but also for water-based wood coatings, intense matte and silky luster.
In the case of wood surfaces, there is a general trend towards natural aesthetics and sustainability: customers want their parquet floors, kitchen countertops or furniture to feel soft and pretty, while showing the fine grain of the wood without any shiny effect. Equally desirable is that the surface is durable and resistant to mechanical stress.
The new member of the SPHERILEX family, provisionally designated EXP 0002-1, helps extend the durability of a coating by improving its resistance to scratching and abrasion. At the same time, silica provides a matte or shiny appearance like silk to meet customers' aesthetic requirements.
