Germany. Wacker Chemie has officially started a new special monomer plant with an annual capacity of 3,800 metric tons at its headquarters in Burghausen.
Special monomers of vinyl neodecanoate and vinyl laurate are the main raw materials in the manufacture of special dispersible polymer powders.
The goal of the new plant is to ensure that Wacker has sufficient capacity of special binders available, both now and in the future, to offer its customers a secure, long-term supply. The company announced that it invested about 8 million euros in the facility and, as a consequence, strengthen its position as the world's largest producer of dispersible polymer powders.
