International. Ashland Specialty Ingredients, a business unit of Ashland Inc., recently received the 2015 Ringier Coating Technology Innovation Award.
This is the fifth time the company has won this award, which is given in China, and which recognizes those who have made significant contributions to the development of the industry through technical innovations, improved productivity, economic efficiency and creation of mercantilist opportunities.
The Natrostone H30 rheology modifier, launched in late 2014, addresses the challenges faced by applicators in the rapidly growing stone paint market. Using the new patent-pending technology, Ashland has developed this water-soluble polymer, specifically to thicken liquid application stone paint and generate the natural look and feel of stone.
This technology provides excellent resistance to water bleaching, both in conditions of short drying time and in conditions of high/low humidity. The H30 also provides excellent stability in storage, maintains viscosity and consistency in phase separation, even at high temperature after storage.
