The competition focuses on innovative materials and products, which have had (or will have) been launched on the market in 2014 or 2015.
Bayer MaterialScience was recognized for its bio-based polyurethane cross-linking agent in the high-performance automotive coatings market: Polyisocyanate based on pentamethylene diisocyanate (PDI), 70% of whose carbon content comes from biomass.
The prize was awarded by the nova-Institute and sponsored by Coperion GmbH at the "Eighth International Conference on Materials of Biological Origin" in Cologne (Germany). With 220 participants from more than 20 countries, it is one of the largest conferences in the world, compiling the latest developments in the field of bio-based materials and providing an excellent platform for networking.
