Mexico. AkzoNobel will modify its marketing strategy to strengthen both its infrastructure and the supply of paints in order to increase its share of the vehicle workshop market within the North American country.
As explained to the newspaper El Financiero, David Recknagel, director in automotive repainting in Latin America of the German company, "there are more than 15 million cars that are circulating in Mexico. We see the potential for vehicular accidents that the country can have and we want repair shops to choose our products," he said.
The newspaper revealed that according to information from the Center for Experimentation and Road Safety in Mexico, about 3.5 million vehicles are repaired for automotive accidents per year, of these, about 1.2 million are served by insurance firms through their affiliated workshops.
In addition, of every 100 vehicles that are mobilized in Mexico, eight suffer an accident every day, which the international company sees as an opportunity the business of automotive repainting, even with much more force than the painting of new vehicles.
