International. Sun Chemical launched its 2014 Corporate Sustainability Report, which details its metric report based on data and outstanding examples of new eco-efficient products and services.
The report focuses on reporting its sustainability efforts based on performance measurement data across seven key indicators: energy consumption/savings at production and non-production sites, energy carbon footprint at the production site, process waste reduction, water consumption, safety materials, and employee safety.
"Our customers want to know what Sun Chemical is doing to be a sustainable organization. Providing meaningful data that helps achieve its goals remains a key priority and emphasis in our sustainability reporting," said Gary Andrzejewski, Sun Chemical's vice president of environmental affairs. "In our most recent report, we are also showing many concrete examples of recently developed products and services that can help our customers produce less waste and/or carbon dioxide, while improving their operational efficiency."
The report highlights a variety of new products and services from Sun Chemical, including:
- Its Sununo Solimax multi-purpose ink system to improve efficiency.
A series of inks that have been certified in OK Compost Home and Industrial by the vinçotte certification body.
- Sunbar oxygen barrier coatings for the lightening of containers.
- MirrorTech metal inks, as an aluminum foil replacement solution that reduces waste.
- Sunfast black elastomer pigments made from 100% post-consumer recycled rubber.
- All printing inks based on vegetable oil sheets which meet the criteria of the Community eco-label.
