Colombia. The students of the business school of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) accompanied the Orbis Foundation and its Pintuco brand in the social projects developed in Medellín, Bogotá and Valledupar, in order to measure the impact generated by the interventions of housing painting and urban art that have been carried out in these cities of the country.
For three weeks Mariana Gomes and Kattia Meneghetti, from Brazil; Robert Little, from the United States, and Tatsuo Koga, from Japan, visited Colombia, thanks to the participation of the Orbis Foundation in the international call for sustainability initiatives of the leadership and sustainability laboratory "L-Lab" of the MIT Sloan business school in Boston, which seeks to promote high-impact sustainable actions, identifying opportunities for improvement and quantifying the positive effects of interventions on communities.
The joint working days between MIT and the Orbis Foundation began in October 2014 remotely and later learned about the projects developed in Medellín with the EDU and the Mayor's Office of this city; in Bogotá with the Habitat Secretariat, and Valledupar with its Municipal Administration.
All initiatives involved the participation of the community. Mit seeks to check whether the actions carried out improve the quality of life of the inhabitants. The results will be delivered in the coming days.
