Panama. Through its "Protective & Marine Coatings" business unit, PPG Industries confirmed that it has already started direct operation in Panama since June 12 of this year. This operation is the result of PPG's acquisition of its distributor Canal Supplies Inc, which distributed the Protective & Marine Coatings portfolio in this country for more than 14 years.
"This is an important acquisition for PPG due to Panama's strategic location, ongoing infrastructure projects around the canal, and the logistical benefits offered by the country and its geographical position. In addition, this acquisition allows to improve the attention and supply capabilities to customers in Central America and the Andean region, "says the official statement of the company.
PPG Industries Panama Inc. is located in the Panama Pacifico special economic area and has local storage offices and warehouses, plus a technical and commercial team to serve the marine, infrastructure and petrochemical sectors.
