Brazil. PPG Industries demonstrated how it actively participated with its coatings in the infrastructures of the last World of Football of Brazil.
The company supplied architectural coatings, manufactured in the Brazilian town of Gravataí, to the fire-fighting materials used in many of the stadium structures such as Beira Rio in the city of Porto Alegre and the arenas of Curitiba, Recife and Natal.
"There are many projects and we can't cite them all," explained Carlos Santa Cruz, PPG's managing director for Brazil and South America. "Major events such as the World Cup or the Olympic Games, which will be held in Brazil in 2016, provide many opportunities to contribute to improving the infrastructure of the host cities. As a global supplier in the manufacture of paints and coatings, at PPG we have worked hard to secure a prominent place among the players involved in these important and highly visible projects."
PPg also participated in the application of paints of the airline GOL airliner which was used by the players of the Brazilian national team. On its surface and with materials from PPG Aerospace, a team of artists painted a giant mural, in which a PPG primer has been used, on the one hand, to help the paint adhere to the fuselage, and, a special varnish to protect the mural from UVA and UVB rays. This application is expected to last for two years.
