International. PPG Industries (PPG), through the Protective & Marine Coatings (PMC) division, reached an agreement to acquire Hi-Temp Coatings Technology Co., Inc., a supplier of high temperature resistant coatings.
The acquisition will augment PPG Industries' product portfolio by adding solutions that withstand extreme temperatures to protect refineries, petrochemical plants, pulp and paper plants, and power plants, among many other industries that require specialty coatings.
"Hi-Temp's unique technology brings multiple growth opportunities for PPG, particularly the petrochemical segment. The combination of low-insulation anti-corrosion coatings with PPG's legacy allows us to provide the highest quality options to meet the needs of our customers," said Tim Knavish, Vice President of PPG PMC.
PPG will now be a global supplier of extreme temperature resistant coatings to protect both carbon steel and stainless steel substrates. The coatings are widely used in various sectors that require protection up to 700º Celsius. Within these solutions, there are products that can be applied while the equipment is hot and running, reducing downtime during facility maintenance.
